The North Georgia Mountains Awake!
A splash of green is appearing upon the hillsides and mountains of North Georgia, deepening in hue and growing in size everyday! Spring has returned to Dahlonega and with it, blooming Dogwood trees, budding flowers, buzzing bees and everything that Mother Nature awakens as she releases us from winter's grasp! Wonderful weather gives us a chance to get outdoors and experience the beautiful scenery, visit historic sites in and around Dahlonega, and shake off any lingering effects from Old Man Winter. Remember, there is so much to see and do, and spring is a great time to get out and do it! |
Sixth Annual Bear On the Square Festival!
Speaking of getting out and doing something, the sixth annual Bear On the Square Festival will be taking place April 20 and 21 featuring bluegrass, old-time music and authentic mountain crafts on the Historic Square of Dahlonega. This year's Bear on the Square Mountain Festival has concerts, workshops, continuous jam sessions, street dance, children's activities, storytelling, country auction, regional foods, and an Appalachian crafts section with demonstrations and sales of traditional mountain crafts.
