Last Chance To Get Away!

School is almost back in session so time is running out for that final (or first) summer getaway. We have great family sized cabins available with lofts for the kids and a beautiful deck overlooking the pond for Mom and Dad. Cavender Creek Cabins is right in the middle of everything so whether it's a family canoe trip down the Chestatee River, a day hike on any of our numerous hiking trails, touring historic gold mines or just enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation, there's always lots to see and do before the summer gets away!

Visit our Web site: www.CavenderCreek.com, take a Virtual Tour of our cabins and make your reservations today!

The Oases of North Georgia...

As we mentioned last month, Dahlonega is quite a bit cooler than anywhere south of us this time of year, but if you really want to find the most refreshing escapes, just find yourself a waterfall! Fortunately, North Georgia has many of these beautiful Oases to choose from where you will find the mountain waters cool the surrounding air as it falls and many are shaded by overhanging Rhododendron. Find your own oasis with maps at the Dahlonega Welcome Center and get a preview at the Dahlonega Waterfall Page. Or visit our friend, J. Anthony's "Waterfalls of North Georgia" Website.

Go Wild in the Mountains!

Just outside of Dahlonega we have not one but two exotic animal preserves only minutes from Cavender Creek Cabins! Both provide an up-close, educational experience in a "non-commercial" family friendly environment. Great destinations for that "last adventure" before school starts!

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve...
With over 100 animals on 20 acres of gently rolling farmland, there are many different species to see at CWP. The Preserve is a magical place to just walk around and enjoy some peace and quiet or get up close and personal to feed some of the animals. Staff members and volunteers circulate throughout the property and are quick to answer any of your questions.

Visit the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve Web site for more information.

Kangaroo Conservation Center...
Known as "Georgia's Aussie Adventure" the Kangaroo Conservation Center brings a number of the rare and unique animals of Australia to the North Georgia Mountains. As the name suggests, there are Kangaroo's, dozens of them in fact, but visitors will also have the opportunity to get close and personal with other "marvelous marsupials" and even see the only Blue-Winged Kookaburras in North America.

Visit the Kangaroo Conservation Center's Web site for full details.
