Our Old Fashioned Christmas begins on December 3rd with a huge celebration!
The
"Fifth Annual Dahlonega by Candlelight" celebration will kick off the season with luminaries surrounding the square,

On Sunday the 4th, during our
"Old Fashioned Christmas" kickoff, Santa's reindeer will stop by before
their long night's work on Christmas Eve. This will be a great opportunity for the kids to see eight live reindeer up close!

Dahlonega's Old Fashioned Christmas -
One of the Southeast Tourism Society's Top 20 Events! The month long Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration
begins on the first weekend in December. Festivities will include "Dahlonega by Candlelight" on
the public square on the first Friday evening and continue with the Christmas parade and lighting of the town on the
first Saturday. Shoppers are entertained with caroling, hospitality tables, and activities through the weekend before
Christmas. Leave the hustle and bustle of crowded malls and enjoy shopping once again as the celebration and decorations
continue throughout the month.

| December 2: Dahlonega by Candlelight - Luminaries around the square presented by the Kiwanis of Lumpkin County and the Key Club of Lumpkin County High School. This beautiful tradition will allow you to honor a special person for a $5 donation. Proceeds to benefit local charities. |
Now - 20: Echoes of Appalachia at NGCSU - "Echoes of Appalachia," an art exhibition featuring tapestries and fabric collages centering on motifs and themes from Appalachia, is on display now through Jan. 20 at North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega.
