Dahlonega in Winter,
A Unique Time in A Unique Place!
It seems like after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it's not until the New Year that we get a chance to relax and truly enjoy the winter season. Winter in Dahlonega is a great time to explore the North Georgia mountains. The beautiful scenery becomes wide and expansive with the bare branches of magnificent trees reaching towards clear blue skies. Around the historic square, the lights and Christmas trees may have come down, but life in Dahlonega is at its most relaxed, falling back into the peaceful routine of a small mountain town. If you're a history buff, now is the time to explore the rich (literally and figuratively) past of the nation's first gold rush town. The Dahlonega Gold Museum, directly in the center of the square, is a great place to start your walk through over 170 years of history or visit numerous historic sites throughout the surrounding area. There is always so much to see and do in and around Dahlonega and winter is a peaceful, relaxing time to enjoy this unique season! Join us!
