July 4th Family Days in Dahlonega!
We make
July 4th in Dahlonega a special time for families! We spend the day by gathering on the square for music,
arts and crafts, free watermelon and home made ice cream. As the sun goes down the whole town
gathers on the Owen Drill field of North Georgia College and State University for a spectacular fireworks
display! Named one of the "Top 20 Events" in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. Join us!!

All American Wine Weekend!
Three Sisters Vineyards will be celebrating the all American winegrape - Cynthiana, with their
All American Wine Weekend, July 1st - 3rd. Also known as Norton, Cynthiana has been called "The American Claret" and was
the most popular winegrape in Georgia prior to prohibition. Three Sisters will offer samples of their 2002 Cynthiana,
barrel tastings of upcoming releases and will also be conducting their "Georgia Wine Country Tastings" all weekend long.

Great Family Theater at the Holly!
Throughout the month of July the Historic Holly Theater will put on the most colorful family musical
ever: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!
This biblical tale of Jacob's son Joseph and his eleven brothers
is told through an amazing score written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Truly a modern classic, this show is sure
to leave everyone smiling and singing a tune!

| July 2 - 4: All American Happy Daze at Amicalola Falls State Park - This weekend is filled with old-fashioned games, patriotic crafts, watermelon seed spitting contest, pie-eating contest, greased pole climb, Hula Hoop contests, hayrides and more. Each day ends with a nostalgic visit back to the '50s as the park's restaurant transforms into the Amicalola Diner. $3 parking. |
| July 4: Family Day Independence Day Celebration - A perennial winner of the Southeast Tourism Society's top 20 events!
The July Family Day is the largest Independence Day celebration in North Georgia with contests, entertainment, music, great food and a spectacular fireworks display, bringing crowds early and keeping them late. Events include a flag raising ceremony, patriotic speeches, live entertainment, clogging, bluegrass, folk and country gospel music, Arts and Crafts Festival, gold panning, free watermelon and much more! All followed by a fireworks display on the campus of North Georgia College after
sundown.

| July 16: Gove Scrivenor in Concert at Buisson Arts Center - Gove Scrivenor has served in the US Navy, sang TV jingles for Busch Beer and Opryland, starred twice on Austin City Limits, and toured as one of the original Coral Reefer Band members with Jimmy Buffet. Gove’s music has been described as high energy folk blues, with his inventive slide work and boisterous vocals tempered all the while with singular work on the autoharp and beautiful ballads of his own writing, as well as a magical rapport with his audiences of all ages.

Buisson Arts Center - Hal Ketchum: poet, songwriter, painter, carpenter, singer, actor, author, a true modern day
artisan. Ketchum has had 15 top ten hits, countless songwriting awards, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
Hal will be doing two shows here in Dahlonega: one at 7 p.m. and a second at 9 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are
