June  2002

This summer we've noticed many folks are staying close to home and some are even foregoing the "Big Vacation". We just wanted to remind you that with so much to see and do in and around Dahlonega, you can still have a great vacation and yet stay close to home and keep expenses down. Everything from festivals, history and quaint small town surroundings to the beautiful mountains, music concerts and outdoor activities, Dahlonega can provide a wonderful getaway! If you have any questions about events happening this summer, visit www.Dahlonega.org or contact us. We'll be happy to help!

A Treat for Dear Old Dad!
We all know Dads are difficult to buy for and with Father's day coming up, some of you might be scratching your head. May we make a suggestion? Dahlonega has great stuff that Dads like to do! Three premier golf courses; Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River, Gold Creek Golf Club and Chestatee Golf Club, offer world class golfing only minutes from Cavender Creek Cabins. For the outdoorsy Dad, North Georgia offers magnificent fishing either from the bank of a creek or the bow of a boat. For some adventure, take Dad canoeing down the Chestatee or white water rafting along the Ocoee! He can even take in the view by horseback! Whatever Dad likes to do, Dahlonega has it!

A Treat for Everyone!
While Dear Old Dad is hitting the tees or catching that evening's dinner, what can Mom do? Well, we really know how to pamper our guests here in Dahlonega! We've allied with two wonderful day spas in Dahlonega to offer you a magnificent retreat at a 10 percent discount when you stay with us at Cavender Creek Cabins! Littlefield Cottage offers full and half-day packages with everything from therapeutic massage to acupuncture. Nature's Haven is tucked away in beautiful surroundings and offers massage, foot rejuvenation, facials and much more! Really get away this month and relax mind, body and spirit!

Don't Forget 4th of July!
It's almost time for everyone to congregate on the Owen Drill field at North Georgia College and State University for the best fireworks display in North Georgia! The day will be filled with arts & crafts, food, music and fun while the night will be lit up by spectacular fireworks. Voted one of the top 20 events in the Southeast! This is a popular event!
