It's a Musical March!
There are a host concerts and music performances throughout the month! From vocal to instrumental, classical to folk, something is bound to catch your ear! Below is just a sample of the concerts and performances occurring this month. See the entire event schedule at the bottom of the page in Area Attractions & Happenings.

The Buisson Arts Center :
The Buisson Arts Center is a relatively new venue in Dahlonega and is showcasing 3 varied genre's of music this month:

The Forsyth Wind Quintet... This is the second concert performance at the Buisson Arts center for this extremely talented group of musicians. Featuring timeless ensembles performed with flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon, this performance is not to be missed! March 5, 8 p.m.
Darrel Scott... Songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist Darrell Scott is back and this time he's bringing friends. His guest this month will be the hottest percussionist in Nashville, Kenny Malone. Opening the show will be Darrell's pal Corey Smith. Don't miss this! March 11, 8 p.m.
Maura O’Connell... One of the best folk song stylists of the last decade, Maura has one of those rich, soothing voices laced with drama and pathos. Onstage, Ms. O'Connell exudes warmth, quiet charm and enough pipe power to immediately enthrall an audience. March 12, 8 p.m.


The Crimson Moon :
The Crimson Moon on the historic square remains a unique musical emporium where you'll hear everything from contemporary folk, bluegrass and Celtic to blues, old time, country and even gospel ringing through the rafters of the 1858 Parker-Nix Storehouse.

Dana & Susan Robinson... Merging traditional and contemporary music, this husband and wife duo have two rich, intimate voices with intricate, powerful guitar and banjo playing with a handful of fiddle and mandolin thrown in. March 4, 8 p.m.

Jonathan Byrd... A continual favorite here at the Crimson Moon, Jonathan Byrd was one of six winners of the 2003 New Folk competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. A big honor considering Lyle Lovett, Nancy Griffith, and Shawn Colvin have all been finalists at the legendary Texas festival. Come out and see why we like him so much! March 5, 8 p.m.

North Georgia College
& State University :
The Fine Arts department of NGC&SU has a fantastic Concert Series which includes not only excellent talent among the students, but also brings regional, national and even international talents to Dahlonega for a unique cultural experience.

NGC&SU’s two military-based music ensembles combine for a concert of choral and instrumental music, Hoag Student Center Auditorium. March 8, 7:30 p.m.


Peter Jankovic, Classical Guitar...
Petar Jankovic, award-winning and internationally recognized classical guitarist from Yugoslavia performs in the Hoag Student Center Auditorium. March 24, 7:30 p.m.


The NGC&SU Singers with
Le Belle Voci...
Returning from their tour in England and Scotland the NGC&SU singers, led by Dr. Jack Broman, perform at their homecoming concert with guest vocalist, Le Belle Voci. Health & Natural Sciences Auditorium March 31, 7:30 p.m.

Celebrate St. Patty's at
Three Sisters Vineyards!
You'll be seeing GREEN at Three Sisters Vineyards annual St. Patty's Day Celebration, Mar. 12 & 13, 1-5 p.m. This is a free, Three Sisters Open House event including a complimentary tasting of our wines plus Sweet Grass Dairy “Green Hill” semi-ripened cow’s milk cheese. Our "Georgia Wine Country Tasting" ($10 per person) will be extended for both days. Live Irish Music. Wear something GREEN for good luck.

Mar. 3-31: NGCSU Student Art Show -
The Buisson Arts Center Gallery proudly presents the student art of North Georgia College and State University during the month of March. No admission fee.
Mar. 4: Dana & Susan Robinson at The Crimson Moon -
Dana & Susan Robinson will perform with their unique blend of powerful guitar and banjo playing with a handful of fiddle and mandolin thrown in. 8 pm.
Mar. 5: Jonathan Byrd at The Crimson Moon -

Mar. 5, 6: Backpacking Clinic & Appalachian Trail Celebration at Amicalola Falls - This clinic includes demonstrations by professionals, trip leaders and equipment retailers, covering tents, sleeping bags, boots, rain gear, clothing, food and other equipment, as well as backpacking trip preparations. Man of La Mancha is a powerful mixture of the dramatic and comedic featuring the inspirational song "The Impossible Dream" One of the most stirring musical theatre pieces of all time....Man of La Mancha will engage your spirit and move your soul.
Mar. 12: Artists Rendezvous at the Buisson Arts Center -
The Artists Rendezvous provides a venue for the public to observe artists at work and brings artists together to have fun, share experiences and stories. Plus, there will be a $1000 (one thousand dollar) incentive to help motivate artists to produce paintings, drawings, and other works of art in any medium.

The Buisson Arts Center presents the Masters Academy of Fine Arts' student production of "More Than A Story" in the Music Hall, followed by a student art exhibit in the Gallery. Free & Open to the Public.
Mar. 24: Classical Guitarist Petar Jankovic in Concert at NGCSU -
Petar Jankovic, guitarist, award-winning and internationally recognized Yugoslavian performs a classical guitar recital, in the Hoag Student Center Auditorium. The event is part of the Nix Living Heritage Fine Arts Series.
Mar. 27: Easter Egg Hunt at Chestatee Wildlife Preserve -
Annual Easter Egg Hunt...Children of all ages are welcome to hunt for thousands of eggs. Each child receives a special Easter Gift from the animals. Visit with all of the animals. Children under 12 $5 and adults $10.
Mar. 31: NGCSU Singers in Concert -
