Vineyard Events!

Spring is an excellent time to tour Dahlonega's fine assortment of Vineyards. Each offers a unique experience and offer a variety of complimentary and special wine tastings, vineyard tours, festivals and events.


Wolf Mountain Vineyards:

This month, Wolf Mountain Vineyards will be hosting a Vineyard Luncheon Buffet including a tour & tasting experience at their beautiful lodge. Plus, you'll have an opportunity to be the first to sample our 2003 wines from the barrel before their release at their Spring Barrel Tasting and Blending Seminar on May 16th. Blending Seminar, lunch, tour & tasting included in the price ($30) or enjoy Brunch for only $25.


Three Sister's Vineyards:

Three Sister's Vineyards is giving Mom a treat this Mother's Day Weekend serving complimentary tastings and tours of the winery with a special gift for Moms only! As usual they will be conducting their regular "Vintner's Tastings" on Saturdays and "Georgia Wine Country Tastings" on Sundays.



Frogtown Cellars

The newest addition to our Vineyard tradition is the Frogtown Winery. Their magnificent facility includes a unique, underground, tri-level, gravity-flow winemaking facility perched atop 26 acres of vineyard over looking a lake and the North Georgia Mountains. As they say, "The best way to explain our winery is to show it to you." You can visit their facility Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment.

New At Etowah Valley Game Preserve:

Etowah Valley Game Preserve has just opened a 12 stand sporting clays course for all shotgun shooting enthusiasts. EVGP provides everything a hunting/shooting enthusiast needs so all you have to do is show up!

Art demonstrations (no sales) on the square and in the park, noon - 4:00 PM Saturday & Sunday FREE Children's activities in the gazebo at Hancock Park FREE Live JAZZ at the Crimson Moon Café and Music Hall on the square.
May 1-2: Flower Power! -
Let us bring out the flower child in you! Enjoy a variety of wildflower identification hikes, "tie die" a tee-shirt, using natural dies, learn about edible and medicinal plants and much more! Get groovy in the Maple Restaurant as we host a 60s party, get hip cat, and participate in our flower child costume contest! Oh behave! May 2,16,23,30: Vineyard Luncheon Buffet -
Each Sunday in May except Mother's Day enjoy a wonderful luncheon and a tour & tasting experience at the Wolf Creek Vineyards lodge nestled in the vineyard. $25 includes gourmet lunch, tour & tasting & tax. Advance Reservations required with Visa or Mastercard.
May 7: Music in the Park -
Emerald Rose will kick off the series with a high energy performance. This popular Dahlonega Band plays Celtic Music in a traditional, entertaining and pleasing style. This is the 3rd year that Emerald Rose has take the stage and this year's performance is sure to entertain the entire family.
May 8: 2004 Mountain Ranger Run And Open House -
The annual Mountain Ranger Run offers the most challenging and scenic cross country course that the North Georgia Mountains can provide. This race will be held in conjunction with the 5th Ranger Training Battalion's Open House. The Open House will highlight US Army Ranger combat techniques, military mountaineering, hand to hand combat and static displays.
May 8-9: Mother's Day Weekend Celebration -
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND from Three Sisters Vineyards! During this weekend, we'll serve up complimentary tastings and tours of the winery.. Every MOM visiting Three Sisters gets a SPECIAL GIFT! We'll also be conducting our regular "Vintner's Tastings" on Saturday and "Georgia Wine Country Tastings" on Sunday.
May 9: Mother's Day at Amicalola Falls -
Treat mom like a queen on her special day, with brunch at the Lodge. All moms will receive a flower with their meal and children can participate in our "Why My Mom is the Greatest" contest and make a special craft for Mom. Programming is free. $2 Park Pass. May 14-16, 20-23: William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream -
The Holly Theater presents the Bard's tale full of mistaken identities, love potions gone wrong, duels, magical transformations, fairies and fun, this play within a play will leave you saying with Puck, "Lord, what fools these mortals be." One of William Shakespeare's most known and loved comedies,"A Midsummer Nights Dream" will be sure to cast its magical spell on the entire audience. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for students and children. Reservations are recommended, please call 706-864-3759.
May 15-16: Wild Flower Festival of the Arts -
Over 80 of the southeast's finest artists and craftsmen surround the historic village square offering wonderful selections of visual arts. Musical and theatrical performances and a children's art area and wildflower awareness area complete the offerings.
May 16: Spring Barrel Tasting and Blending Seminar -
Be the first to sample Wolf Creek Vineyard's 2003 wines from the barrel before their release. Create your own master blend at the Blending Seminar. Blending Seminar begins promptly at 12:30pm and 2pm. Then enjoy your creation at the Vineyard Luncheon Buffet. $30 per person includes Blending Seminar, lunch, tour & tasting and tax. Brunch only is $25. Advanced reservations required by Visa or Master Card.
May 22-23: Rock Swap at Amicalola Falls -
Calling all rock hounds! The focus this weekend will be on the geological aspects of the North Georgia Mountains, with educational lectures, exhibits, guided hikes, rock club info and more. Program is free. Call 706-265-4703. $2 Park Pass.
May 19-31: Memorial Day at Amicalola Falls -
Honor veterans, who have given their lives in defense of our country, by participating in obstacle course, orienteering, fire building, edible and medical plant lecture series and other survivalist programs! We'll transform the Maple Restaurant into a M.A.S.H. unit and continue the fun in the evening! Program fees may be required; $2 Park Pass Required.
