Always Something Going On At Folkways!

The Folkways Center will be hosting their regular schedule of fantastic shows with music and dancing throughout the month of November. On the first Saturday of each month, be sure to catch Mountain Music and Medicine Show. It's a unique show of mountain music and talent done in the grand tradition of an old time radio show and broadcast live on WKHC 104.3 FM. Every second Saturday of the month, you can bring the whole family for a night of Southern Appalachian Circle and Line Dancing, done in big circles, squares and sets with live Appalachian string band music. No experience necessary, just bring your feet and be ready for fun! Each fourth Saturday, get ready for the Folkways Mountain Music Review, a special concert series featuring old-time, Bluegrass, Gospel and other seminal music styles unique to Southern Appalachian musical traditions. Visit the Folkways Center Web site for a full listing of special events!
