Autumn 2002: Bigger, Brighter and Lasting Longer!!
|
Mother Nature will be outdoing herself this year!! Due to the dry summer, the changing leaves of autumn
are predicted to be extremely vibrant this year and stay on the trees LONGER thereby extending this
most beautiful time of the year!! This is the busiest time for us and we suggest making reservations
now! We still have vacancies during the week and it's the best time to beat the crowds. Do not miss what should be the most spectacular fall season in years!

Cavender Creek Cabins: In the Middle of Festival Season!
This time of year there is no shortage of things to do! Numerous Festivals will take place all over the Northeast Georgia Mountains
and Cavender Creek Cabins makes a great hub to visit them all!
Dahlonega's own Gold Rush Days (Oct. 19-20) celebrates the town's place in history as the scene of
America's first Gold Rush! It is the largest festival in Northeast Georgia and features over 300 art and crafts vendors. There will also be a
children's activity area, music, gold panning, food, refreshments and much more!
To the East is Ellijay, Ga. home of the Georgia Apple Festival (Oct. 12-13 and 19-20) which celebrates how apple crops saved the
area after the cotton bust of the 1920's. Food, arts and crafts and of course every apple product known to
man will be there!
Perhaps the biggest party in Northeast Georgia will be going on all month, just Northeast of Dahlonega in Helen, Ga. as they celebrate
Oktoberfest. Helen was fashioned after Munich, Germany as an Alpine village and goes all out for this festival. If you like beer, bratwurst and oompah music, this is the place for you!
Not really a festival, but Fall at Burt's Farm is a great experience! Hay rides, a sea of orange from a
field of pumpkins plus winter squash, gourds, Indian corn, cornstalks and hay bales and all sorts of
fall decorations are in a never ending supply at the farm!
|
Halloween in Dahlonega!
Bring the kids!! Every Halloween shop owners on Dahlonega's Historic Square stand by their door
fronts and wait for the little trick-or-treaters! This has been a long
running tradition in Dahlonega and it's a great time to bring your little ghosts, witches and goblins for an old fashioned
Halloween on the Square!
