Autumnfest 2004!
Dahlonega makes Fall "official" with
Autumnfest, Sept. 18 & 19! A celebration of the fall season centered around the
Historic Town Square of Dahlonega, which is decorated with natural materials, and features a host of events
reminiscent of a time gone by! Festival highlights include great food, blue ribbon pie contest, cake walk, Bluegrass
jam session, Gospel music, scarecrow auction, farmer's market, demonstrations of bygone skills, wagon rides with story
tour, 1862 dancing in period attire, old farm equipment demonstrations, and merchants' tag sale.

6 Gap Century & 3 Gap Fifty Bike Ride
If you missed out on the Tour de Georgia as it passed through Dahlonega earlier this year don't miss the unique event!
The 6 Gap Century & 3 Gap Fifty Bike Ride is bit more relaxed than the
Tour de Georgia with two events in one. Riders can choose between a 100 mile (century) ride winding up and down the
Georgia mountains through six mountain passes (Gaps) or go for the 50 mile trip through "only" three passes in the North Georgia Mountains.

Aug. 21st - Sept. 12:
They're Super ... An Art Exhibition by Trevor Hawk at The Crimson Moon -
The Crimson Moon on the square in Dahlonega presents "They're Super, Thanks for Asking," a collection of original,
cartoon-inspired paintings by Norcross artist Trevor Hawkins. Exhibit runs Aug. 21-Sept. 12. Opening reception with
wine tasting, free hors d'oeuvres, art raffle and live music on Aug. 21, from 6-8 p.m.

Music in the Park -
Bring a picnic supper and spend time with family and friends! Vistors to Music in the Park will be glad to see Barry
Bailey return for his third year. Bailey specializes in Native American Music and is well received by audiences.

The Art of Archery at Medicine Bow -
The accurate use of bow and arrow using Indian, Old English and modern styles for shooting direct and lob shots. For
all ages (7-107) and all skill levels. Taught by 1999 World Longbow champion. Archery gear provided or BYO. $75.

A Study of Trees at Medicine Bow -
A relaxed family day for all ages to learn to identify tres by their bark patterns, leaves, limb structure, wood
grain, smell and habitat. Learn how to use them as the Cherokee did for craft work. $65.

Sept. 26th:
Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty Bike Ride -
The 16th annual Six Gap Century and Three Gap Fifty bike rides through the mountains. These challenging rides
ascend and descend three or six of the steepest climbs in the North Georgia Mountains. The Six Gap Century ride is
100 miles with over 10,700 feet of vertical climbing. The toughest climb is Hogpen Gap. The Hogpen Gap climb
averages 7% for 7 miles, with sections as steep as 15%. In 1998 we added a three gap, 50 mile alternative to the
century. Plan to be a part of this year's ride the last Sunday in September!
